Squabbles, Sales, and Spiders
These might seem fairly arbitrary distinctions, until you relate them to those unending arguments in the arts, which start to look like ongoing territorial squabbles between competing tribes. What is the age-old debate between truth and beauty, if not a fight between the Classicists and the Iconoclasts? Who is more passionate about style v content than Formalists and Animists.

"Earlier this year, poet Chase Twichell announced that Ausable Press, the independent publishing operation that she founded in 1999 in Keene, New York, will be acquired by Copper Canyon Press, the country's largest poetry publisher, located in Port Townsend, Washington."

Last night, I had one of the more disturbing dreams I have had in a long while. In it, I kept finding three punctures in the shape of a pyramid on my skin: my arms, my legs, etc. And in the dream, someone told me these were marks of "the spider" and that I needed squeeze the area long enough to make the spider come out. And over and over in this dream I kept pinching the areas with the three small circular punctures and would watch as eventually a spider, almost 2 cm each time, would emerge from one of the punctures. It was disgusting! And even now, as I think about, I get goosebumps.
